Katherine grew up on a farm in rural Oregon. She didn't have television or internet, and there were 14 students in her class. She wore boots, wranglers, and t-shirts, and “Fashion” was not in her vocabulary.
Her grandmother started teaching her how to sew when she was four years old, and before long, she had started a business selling doll clothes. At 12, she was commissioned to design and sew her first wedding gown, prompting her transition from doll clothing to bridal and evening wear.
Two years later, Katherine was selected as Oregon’s 2014 Portland Fashion Week Emerging Designer. From there doors opened to international exposure via shows such as Los Angeles Fashion Week and Vancouver, B.C. Fashion Week, as well as press with Vogue UK and Elle HK.
She has interned with Nicole Miller and Archerie in New York City as well as the House of TAMMAM in London, England.
"Every day when my head pops off the pillow I know a new adventure is about to unfold. I enjoy meeting people who share the passion to create. At the end of the day, the most satisfying part of what I do comes from creating a garment that a woman can step into and feel beautiful and confident in."
Katherine has recently opened her studio in Silverton, Oregon where she designs and creates one-of-a-kind gowns for brides across the state.
